. The Powder Coating Process
Powder coating is the process of coating a surface in which the powder is electrostatically applied. This applied powder is then heated to it's melting point after which it flows to form a smooth durable surface that is resistant to scratches, peeling, scratches and corrosion.
Here's the powder coating steps:
Inspection of parts prior to preparation.
Masking of areas where surface prep can not be done.
Media blasting to remove existing finish or corrosion.
Masking of areas where powder coat can not be applied.
Electrostatic application of powder.
Curing powder in the oven.
Inspection of parts.
